CELEBRATING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE WORKING CLASS ON LABOUR DAY

The Labour Day annually celebrates the achievements of the workers. Our students of Presidium Kalyan Vihar conducted a special assembly on the occasion of Labour Day wherein they acknowledged the achievements of the workers in various fields. The Presidians of Grade 3 paid a tribute to the labour class by coming dressed up as helpers like plumber, electrician, cleaner etc. The students also spoke few lines highlighting the importance of this day followed by a poem recitation. They also showcased an alluring Nukkad Nattak in front of the audience, displaying the condition of the small underprivileged children under the age of 14, and workers who are being exploited by many at their working place. The students also thanked the helper staff with a token of gratitude for their selfless services. Apprising the leaders of tomorrow about the condition of the labourers, the assembly made them more sympathetic and grateful towards them.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE GLORY OF DANCE ON WORLD DANCE DAY!

Dance is an art which refers to rhythmic movement of the body to music. It is also a form of
expression, social interaction which may be presented in a spiritual or performance setting.
Various forms of dances are performed all over the world for various purposes. International Dance Day is an event which celebrates the joy of dancing. To celebrate and mark the significance of International Dance Day, a special assembly was organized at Presidium Kalyan Vihar by the students of Grades 1 & 2. The theme ‘Dancing Feet’ was appropriately chosen to celebrate the occasion. All the students participated with a lot of zeal and vigour and wholeheartedly showcased their strengths in various dance forms. The assembly started with a prayer soulfully sung by the choir group. It was followed by an inspirational thought for the day and new words related to the theme. They also shared some amazing facts about International Dance Day. Through a poem, they beautifully conveyed the global message illustrating vivid cultural diversity and its eternal values. The entire arena echoed with the feeling that there is no better means than dance. It was indeed a kaleidoscope of diverse dance forms that was witnessed to mark this out of the ordinary day.

PRESIDIANS SHINE AT INTER CLASS POEM RECITATION COMPETITION

Poetry is a stepping stone for the young students to develop their verbal skills and to boost their confidence. It also develops self-expression and memorization skills. With this pleasant thought in mind Presidium Kalyan Vihar organized an Intra Class Poem Recitation Competition for Grades 1 and 2. The children chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature, trees, flowers, mother, teacher, unity in diversity etc.Their enthralling performances added to the serenity of the school atrium. The excitement and spirit of a healthy competition could be seen on their faces throughout the competition. The students were judged on parameters like confidence, clarity, audibility, selection of poems and expressions. The day concluded with a jovial note where the judges appreciated and applauded all the students for their wonderful performances.

WORLD EARTH DAY: PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO BECOME SAVIOURS OF EARTH

‘The proper use of science is not to conquer nature but to live in it.” Earth Day is celebrated all over the world as a reminder that we have forgotten the beautiful gift that we have been given in the form of the
Planet earth. Presidians brought the cause of saving our planet to forefront on Earth Day to increase the awareness among people about the environment safety as well as to demonstrate the environmental protection measures. They contributed ideas to safeguard Mother Earth. Students spoke about the significance of protecting Earth and its natural resources and suggested ways for the same. They dedicated a song ‘The Earth is My Home’ and pledged to make individual efforts to keep the Earth clean and green. The assembly was successful in turning the students into the saviours of Earth. Presidium believes that the saplings of ideas planted at this tender age will surely bear fruits in the years to come and will make a significant difference in the way our generations treat the planet.

PRESIDIANS WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY BAISAKHI WITH A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

The month of April marks a very important celebration - ‘Baisakhi’. The special assembly for the month of April was organized by the students of Grade I & II to celebrate Baisakhi which marks the Sikh New Year and commemorates the formation of Khalsa Panth of warriors under Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. Festival of Baisakhi is celebrated with lot of joy and enthusiasm in the northern state of Punjab and Haryana. Farmers are jubilant over the festival as for them Baisakhi marks the time for harvest of Rabi crops. Prosperous with the bountiful produce they look forward to celebratE Baisakhi with all eagerness. The assembly blossomed the environment with magnificent ‘Bhangra’ to celebrate the festival by spreading happiness and joy. To reinforce and assimilate the knowledge gained, an open quiz was conducted which made the environment very lively and interesting.

‘Goodbye Vacation! Hello to school!
Hello new class, Goodbye old pool,
Vacation time is over, School time is here,
Now, we welcome A new school year!’
With these sentiments, smiling faces and open arms, young Presidians were ushered into the new academic session. To warmly greet their students and help them with a new session full of learning and fun, teachers and staff welcomed the tiny tots with great affection and excitement. A number of exciting activities were organised to make their first day more memorable. The leaders of tomorrow were cordially welcomed with an auspicious Tilak. Ice-breaking activities like Jump in hoopla and Hand painting were focussed on recreation and to facilitate the students to bond with their peer groups and facilitators. The whole day was carried and conducted smoothly with every team working in complete coordination with each other. A memorable memento was given to children as a token of love. The day ended with a note to see and welcome those cheerful faces again.

To appreciate womanhood and celebrate the day for wonderful women of the world, Presidium Kalyan Vihar conducted a special assembly on International Women’s Day. The students enthusiastically showed the contribution of women and their achievements through singing songs, story recitation etc. While the girls were dressed as confident leading ladies of our country, the boys spoke volumes for women succeeding in different spheres in life. The young Presidians not only enjoyed the day with utmost excitement but their gleamy faces reflected pride for all the women and their role in the development of the world.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE AUSPICIOUS FESTIVAL OF MAHASHIVRATRI

Students of grades Nursery and Prep from Presidium Kalyan Vihar, learnt the significance of the festival Mahashivratri with a special assembly. Students discussed about why and how the festival is celebrated as they enacted the wedding of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati with beautiful detailing. Taking the theme ahead they performed the Tandav Nritya signifying Lord Shiva in the form of Natraj and shared the important features of the dance form. Presidians also took the initiative to spread the spiritual message of Shivratri which is essentially self realization and being one with inner self.

ROCKSPORT VISIT: A FUN & ADVENTUROUS LEARNING EXPERIENCE!

As is rightly said, ‘Nature is a great teacher to teach hidden facts and beauty, We gain direct real true knowledge from nature, Nature is a great teacher, a real knowledge preacher.’ A child’s heart not only seeks knowledge but also yearns for fun and frolic as well as learning through experience of new and exciting things. Keeping in mind the overall development of the students, Presidians got a rejuvenating break from their hectic routines through an excursion to Rocksport Adventure camp. Students explored the beautiful rural setting of the camp and were excited for the activities planned for them. Students were engaged in many activities like Zip lining, Grappling, Commando Crawl, Trekking, Zorbing, Burma Bridge, Camp Games etc. They enjoyed tractor ride and relished the scrumptious breakfast and lunch buffet. They thoroughly enjoyed the day with their friends, returning to the school with wonderful memories and a rejuvenated spirit. Overall, it was an outing that made the students confident, courageous and to a great extent assisted them to conquer their fears.
