The soul starts singing its merry song, as the happy little feet touched the fiery ground. Students of Presidium Kalyan Vihar did not leave any stone unturned to put their best foot forward in the Happy Feet Dance Competition. The richness in their performance shouted out their hearty souls with their charm and exuberance. The sight of our little queens posturing on “Who Run the world” was as enigmatic as a dancer spreading their charm and was filled with grandeur. The party-like aura created by the little Bruno Mars did the magic. The leaders of tomorrow also enhanced the Indian culture through their folk performances and expressed their love for their country. The aesthetics of the most expressive art form was lit up with these high spirited dancers.

SPARSH VISIT: PRESIDIANS LEARN THE LESSONS OF HUMILITY & LOVE

With an aim to impart values of life like humility, sympathy, love and respect for other, Presidium Kalyan Vihar recently organised a trip to Sparsh. The young Presidians were filled with excitement and enthusiasm as they were welcomed by the special children. The visit helped in creating new bonds of friendships and also take a peek at the daily routine of the special children. It was a memorable day for the Presidians as they left Sparsh inspired and motivated.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF MONEY WITH FUN ACTIVITY

Money is the basis of all economic activities. With an aim to introduce the concept of money and its uses and value in today’s world, a ‘Concept of Money’ activity was organised for our young leaders of tomorrow. Children used handmade money to buy things from a shop set up, like toys, food, clothes and vehicles. With the activity, students learned about how the value of money differs with every different object.  The activity also helped students learned the concept of adding money, notes and coins, to give exact change to the shopkeeper, thus enhancing addition and subtraction skills of the students.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION ENTHUSE PRESIDIANS WITH LOVE, JOY & PEACE

‘Nip in the air, festivities and cheers resonating around, Christmas trees adorned with stars and baubles, being nice all year around to hear the jingle bells and the Ho-Ho sound.’ Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, Presidians celebrated the festival with verve and gusto. Students sang traditional carols like, We three kings, Joy to the World, Jingle Bells etc. the dance troupe enthralled everyone as they danced to the rhythmic beats. The special assembly ended with a message from Santa Claus to the students to spread the essence of Christmas with love and the Joy of Giving.

PRESIDIANS DISSEMINATE THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Human Rights Day celebrates the worldwide declaration of human rights while ensuring its continued existence and remembrance as a common standard for all nations. A special assembly was conducted by the students of Presidium Kalyan Vihar wherein the focus was as to how these rights have to be utilised to educate people especially children and how it’s our responsibility to learn and exercise them and spread the word. Students talked how inclusion of Human Rights in the curriculum is essential so that they while growing up they should be well aware of their rights as per their existence and how important is it for them to work on these. Last but not the least a small enactment was done to create awareness about various rights necessary for human existence.

MATH WEEK: PRESIDIANS EXPLORE THE WORLD OF NUMBERS & PUZZLES

‘The study of mathematics, like the Nile, begins in minuteness but ends in magnificence’. Mathematics is a dynamic subject - it is constantly changing and can never be static. It challenges us to new horizons and forces us to look at new goals. For an enjoyable experience of mathematics, we must necessarily be able to relate the subject to the environment and focus on the development of thinking and reasoning skills. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Kalyan Vihar hosted a special display of numbers and various operations. Students showcased different shapes and their examples in real-life. The event also included a talk on various famous Indian Mathematicians like Aryabhatta, whose contribution to astronomy and the field of mathematics was a great influence on all.

STUDENTS SHOW TECHNIQUE AT DELHI STATE TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP

The ultimate ideal of taekwondo practice is to achieve a state of mind in which the performer is acutely aware of the endlessly changing competition environment and can effortlessly react to such changes. This state of mind becomes possible through the mastery of a broad range of offensive and defensive taekwondo skills. These skills were all well proved at 30th State IT.F. Taekwon-Do Championship which was held at Thaygraj Stadium. Our students showcased a sense of technique, humility and sportsmanship in their performances which bagged them various prizes in diverse categories. They were given certificates of appreciation and participation as well at the valedictory ceremony. We are proud of all our achievers.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE WORLD SOIL DAY & LEARN ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT

World Soil Day was recently observed in Presidium Kalyan Vihar. The Day celebrates the importance of soil as a critical component of the natural system and as a vital contributor to human well-being. The day was established by resolution in 2002 by the International Union of Soil Sciences and in December 2013, the UN General Assembly declared December 5 as World Soil Day. A special assembly was presented by students of Grades I - III in which they talked about World Soil Day wherein they shared their views on soil and its conservation. Children also created awareness to conserve our mother earth and save our soil to protect our planet. They discussed about seriousness of problems and threats to our mother Earth.
