World Youth Day is celebrated to recognize the importance and hard work of the Youth and also to draw attention towards the cultural and legal issues faced by our youth. The day also promotes different ways to engage the young generation and enable them to contribute more for our communities and society. The Theme of International Youth Day 2019 is “Transforming Education”. This theme draws attention to ensure and promote quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for youth of today. Keeping this year’s theme in mind, International Youth Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm in Presidium Kalyan Vihar. Students were enlightened about the relevance of this day through a beautifully presented Skit, song and

related thought of the day.The programme was well received by all the teachers and the students.

Eid  is a festival of prayers, joy, happiness and brotherhood. A special assembly was organised to convey the significance of this pious festival to the students. The celebrations began with an informative presentation by teachers through which they reiterated the importance of celebrating this festival by sharing joys, meeting others, distributing sweets among their loved ones and giving alms to the needy. After the wonderful introduction to the festival of Eid, the students of class 3 presented a dance program “EID IS HERE” which further elucidated on how Eid is celebrated. Then, came the main attraction of the program, was an adaptation of Munshi Premchand’s story - ‘Eidgaah’ which the Presidians presented through a skit. The values of harmony, respect and friendship filled the aure at Presidium on this day.

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while

others bright some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same

Box. To spread the brightness of colours, a Colouring Competition was recently conducted at Presidium, Kalyan Vihar for students of Grades Nursery and Prep. Colouring plays a very vital role in a child's development and provides an opportunity to practice and develop many skills such as concentration, fine motor skills and coordination for early writing skills with correct finger

grip. The little ones enjoyed this colouring activity wherein they were able to showcase their

imagination thereby making a choice of colours to exhibit their creativity.

Friendship Day is a day when we appreciate our friends who have been there for us through every thick and thin. They are like stars which are not always seen but are always there for you. To celebrate this special day and relive memoirs, young Presidians of Kalyan Vihar enlightened their peer group with the importance of Friendship Day. They sang songs in rhythm and concord. The stage came alive as the young Presidians presented a short skit on true friends. The kids were efficacious in delivering the connotation of this day expressing ‘A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.’ We, at Presidium, believe in encouraging every intrinsic quality of our Presidians so that our school motto - “Be What You Want To Be” is visible in our actions too. Thus, this special assembly was made even more special as we acknowledged their skills and qualities with certificates of appreciation. We strongly feel that motivation through appreciation always transforms a life and we hope it holds true for our young students as well. 

Presidium has always believed in giving freedom to its students to not just chase their dreams but also strive to achieve them. It is because of this consistent support and encouragement that our students are successful in bringing laurels for their school at various national and international platforms. To acknowledge the achievements of those who have raised the benchmark of our organization, our visionary Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta created a special platform, Chairperson Honours, wherein our champions are felicitated with certificates and awards for their achievements in various fields like sports, Olympiads and performing arts. It was a day made especially for those who had rightfully earned the honour to be recognized in the presence of a big gathering – those cheers, the heart rendering applause and the broad smiles on the faces of the prize winners. Our honourable chairperson appreciated the hard work of our proud Presidians and motivated them to continue their victory streak to become the pride of the nation. All of this made it a unique day with memories to be cherished for a lifetime.

Quiz - A game which can also be called a mind sport, wherein the players, attempt to answer

questions posed to them correctly, in order to win, though the most invaluable prize is the gift

of knowledge that they gain. The Story Tellers Academy of Presidium Kalyan Vihar provided a similar platform to the brainiacs of the school, to showcase their extraordinary knowledge

through an Intra Class Quiz Competition. Students of Grades 4 and 5 honed their skills to prove their acumen. The befitting themes ranged from General Knowledge, Social Awareness, Sports and Current Affairs. Four varied rounds were designed to pose a challenge to the young champs, so that we not only test the learned facts, but also refine their analytical skills.   The

competition provided an arena to the students to work as a team and evaluated their

awareness related to the themes.

We sleep in our houses without any tension as the soldiers are awake at the borders to ensure our safety. Kargil Vijay Diwas is both a pride inducing moment and a prick in the hearts of millions. It is an important day for every Indian regardless of religion, caste, creed or race. Thousands of soldiers bravely fought for our country and gave their lives to successfully take command of the high outposts of Kargil Drass Sector. To commemorate the day, students presented thought of the day emphasising on the value of peace in our lives. They presented a musical dance drama portraying the incidents that led to Kargil War and how India emerged as a winner. The importance of peace was also talked about and homage was paid to the soldiers who left for the heavenly abode during the war. A scintillating dance performance depicting patriotic fervour amazed the audience portraying the strong feeling of unity and brotherhood. The soul stirring lyrics brought out the true essence of unity in diversity and patriotism.

To encourage students to adopt and follow nonviolence and unity in their life, International

Mandela Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Presidium Kalyan Vihar by students

of Grade 4 recently. The assembly started by praying to the almighty for blessings, followed by a small speech on Nelson Mandela. A beautiful presentation of different skills was also displayed. The students shared their views on the significance of the day. By their active participation and

presentations, on how youth can be a major boon in the prosperity of a nation and the difference that young people can bring by following great minds like Nelson Mandela, they motivated the audience. This also inspired all to become drivers of positive changes.

यस्य देवे परा भक्तिर्यथा देवे तथा गुरौ।

तस्यैते कथिता ह्यर्थाः प्रकाशन्ते महात्मनः प्रकाशन्ते महात्मन॥

This line means is that One who has unflinching devotion for the Supreme Lord and is directed by the Guru, in whom he has similar unflinching faith, can see the Supreme Personality of Godhead by revelation. It is believed that one can get in touch with God if he worships his Guru.

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima,  Presidians of Grades 4 & 5, paid obeisance to their Gurus for bringing the light of knowledge and awareness in their lives. A special assembly was conducted in which students dedicated verses, speeches and couplets to their Gurus. They also emphasized on the significance of a Guru, who can be in our life as a parent, teacher or even friend. A dance recital on the words of the hymn “Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu” perfectly
