An Intra Class Show ‘n’ Tell Competition was organised for students of Grades Nursery and Prep in the premises of Presidium Kalyan Vihar. The objective behind this activity was to foster public speaking skills and help them feel comfortable while talking in front of peers. It also helped students to overcome their stage fright, develop communication skills and boost their confidence. The Presidians took centre stage where the performers faced the rest of the class with a particular object and spoke on different topics like my bicycle, aeroplane, tree, national flag etc. They described the objects with lot of confidence, excitement, facial expressions and voice modulation. This kind of tactic also gave them a chance to think outside the box with their artistic imagination.

PRESIDIANS ORGANIZED A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON GIRL CHILD DAY

October 11 is celebrated every year as International Girl Child Day, a day to recognize the struggles girls face in their lives. On this occasion, a special assembly was conducted to highlight the importance of a girl child. Presidians delivered poignant speech on the theme and urged everyone to raise awareness about the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign. Students performed a heart-rending skit, highlighting the importance of daughter in a family. Slogans and banners prepared by the students on the theme of the importance of girls caught everyone’s eye. The day emphatically brought home the point that saving, educating and empowering girls is the need of the hour.

DUSSEHRA: PRESIDIANS REMINISCE LIVES OF MYTHOLOGICAL HEROES

Dussehra celebrates Lord Rama’s victory over the demon Ravana and the triumph of good over evil. This day was celebrated by the students of grades nursery to 3. The assembly began with a prayer sung by the school choir. Presidians enjoyed a scintillating act depicting the triumph of good over evil. A beautiful and energetic dance performance by young Presidians portraying jovial essence mesmerized everyone. Students talked about the relevance of rejoicing such festivals. They also shared the lessons they can learn from the lives of mythological figures.

STORY READING COMPETITION: ENHANCING READING HABITS OF PRESIDIANS

The importance of reading cannot be underestimated, as reading stretches the child’s mind and introduces him to the world of wonder - literature. It is aimed to motivate them to improve their English reading skills, creativity and original thinking. We, at Presidium, challenged students to read one book, fiction or nonfiction, from a wide range of genres. The students realized that the stories offered many facets like suspense, entertainment and information and they were filled with a new curiosity. They read out stories with clear articulation, correct accentuation and voice modulation.

GANDHI JAYANTI: PRESIDIANS VOW TO FOLLOW GANDHIJI'S PATH OF LIFE

Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd marks the birth of Mahatma Gandhi who was one of the most prominent leaders of the Indian Independence movement. The birth anniversary of the father of nation was celebrated by Presidians of grades nursery to 3. The assembly began with a prayer sung by the school choir. Students shared anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life followed by speeches. Moving a step forward, students were given deep insights on the life of Mahatma Gandhi through a skit that encouraged them to think about the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and understand the value of freedom. The students were deeply moved by Gandhiji’s contributions in giving a new shape to the country.

HEART DAY:KEEP A HEALTHY HEART BEAT TO FEEL GOOD FROM HEAD TO TOE

World Heart Day is a campaign established to spread awareness about the health of heart among common people all through the world. A special assembly was conducted by Presidians of grades 2 and 3 to mark this day. A speech on the significance of ‘World Heart Day’ was delivered. Rhyme recital by one of our enthusiastic Presidians stating the ways to keep our heart healthy was greatly admired by all. They also propagated the message, ‘To Feel Good From Your Head To Your Toe, Keep A Healthy Heart Beat.’ An informative skit was also presented depicting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle which leads to a healthy heart.

PEACE DAY: MAKE THE WORLD BETTER FOR YOU & ME!

This International Peace Day celebrates the power of global solidarity for building a peaceful and sustainable world. An assembly was organized to disseminate the message of ‘Peace and Prosperity’ and universal values of ethics and discipline. Students also spoke on the importance of peace. Shlokas of ‘Shanti’ were chanted by the students. Students recited a poem on peace and this was followed by a dance performance on the song ‘Make a better world for you and me’ Students also participated and shared their own views on peace and kindness. A poster making event was organised later on.

हिंदी दिवस: प्रेसीडीअंस ने लिया हिंदी भाषा का सम्मान करने का प्रण

यह भारतीयों के लिए गर्व का क्षण था, जब भारत की संविधान सभा ने हिंदी को देश की आधिकारिक भाषा के रूप में अपनाया था। संविधान ने वही अनुमोदित किया और देवनागरी लिपि में लिखी गई हिंदी आधिकारिक भाषा बन गई। 14 सितम्बर 1949 देश के पहले प्रधान मंत्री पंडित जवाहर लाल नहरू जी ने हिंदी को देश की राजभाषा घोषित किया था I तब से लेकर आज तक इस दिन को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है I हमारे विद्यालय में हिंदी दिवस बड़े ही उत्साह के साथ मनाया गया I हिंदी दिवस का सम्पूर्ण परिचय देने के पश्चात् भाषण, नाटक मंचन - अनपढ़ कौन व् कवि सम्मलेन का आयोजन हुआ l l सभी विद्यार्थियो ने हास्य नाटक का आनंद लिया l कवि सम्मलेन में सभी ने अपनी - अपनी कविता सुनाई l सभी ने हिंदी भाषा को अपनाने और भारतीय होने पर गर्व करते हुए हिंदी भाषा का सम्मान करने का प्रण लिया I

own political, economic, social and cultural systems and their full participation in all aspects of
life. Our support for International Democracy Day stems from our core belief that democracy requires the participation of all citizens. The occasion of International Day of Democracy holds much importance for the world’s largest democracy, India. The students of Grades 2 and 3 of Presidium Kalyan Vihar marked this day with a special assembly. They prepared an informative skit depicting the lack of democracy rule in various countries and how democracy is important for the growth of a nation and the world as a whole. Young Presidians also presented speeches on the importance of celebrating such a day. The assembly ended with a pledge to uphold the values our Constitution - the written testament of our democratic existence.
