PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH INMATES OF ORPHANAGE

The students of Presidium visited Holy Cross Orphanage on the eve of Christmas. Students were very happy to meet the underprivileged section of the society. The celebration started with a prayer followed by cutting of the cake and singing of Christmas Carols. They also decorated the Christmas Tree with those children. Students gave some gifts as a token of love and warmth like books, chocolates, stationary kit, mufflers, gloves etc. to them. This brought joy ‘n’ cheer on everyone’s face. Games like passing-the-parcel, musical chairs were also played with them. It was indeed heartwarming to witness the ease with which they were dancing and singing with our students. The memories will be cherished for a lifetime. The students took a pledge to work for the upliftment of such sections of the society, with rigour with the moving time.

A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY IS ORGANIZED ON HUMAN RIGHTS & UNICEF DAY

Human Rights Day is commemorated every year all over the world on the 10th of December. It is celebrated with a special theme every year to raise awareness and instil the importance of human rights in the minds of the people. This year the Human Rights Day was celebrated with the theme “Stand Up For Human Rights”. UNICEF aims to promote the equal rights of women and girls and to support their full participation in the political, social and economic development of their communities. Keeping this year’s theme of Human Rights Day and UNICEF Day, students of Presidium from grades 1-3 kick started the assembly with a special prayer followed by some thought provoking quotes. The students also performed skits on various topics like right against exploitation, right to education and right to work. The assembly concluded with a song called “We are the world” which highlighted the main objective of having this assembly.

Navy Day in India is celebrated every year to recognize the splendour, great achievements and role of the naval force to the nation. This Day pays an ode to the strength and bravery of the Indian Navy who won the Indo-Pak war in 1971. Under the Operation Trident, the Indian Navy attacked Pakistan Naval base on December 4, 1971. Navy Day was celebrated in Presidium Kalyan Vihar with a special assembly. A short speech emphasizing the history of Indian Navy filled the young hearts with ecstasy, pride and honour. It was followed by a song and a short quiz to enhance the knowledge of students about the Indian Navy. The observance of Navy Day raised desire in the young minds to opt Navy as a career and serve their motherland.

STUDENTS BRUSHING UP THEIR VOCABULARY

The present time which is an age of auto-correct, spell-check and predictive text, the Spellathon Competition was organized for students of Grades 1 to 5 at Presidium Kalyan Vihar which came as a whiff of fresh breeze. The Competition was conducted to enrich the vocabulary & pronunciation. This is actually an excellent tool which can help students understand words more deeply as they learn definitions, usage in a sentence, along with the spelling of words. Featuring of multiple rounds like - Spell them right, Words Hunt, Un jumble the Jumbled, Visual Round and Guess the Word Round, it was an amazing fun-filled day. The Competition made students aware of spellings and the usage of many unfamiliar words. All in all, such competitions provide a platform to our young and budding learners to acquire knowledge and enrich their vocabulary.

STORYTELLING COMPETITION GIVES WINGS TO PRESIDIANS’ IMAGINATION

An Intra Class Story Telling Competition was held at Presidium for students of grades nursery and prep. The students performed spectacularly narrating their favourite stories using creative props, voice modulation and impressive expressions which build their confidence and enhanced speaking skills. The young vibrant Presidians came forth with wonderful tales. Some stories provided moral values while some were humorous and all these in crux won everyone's heart with huge applaud.

The occasion of Annual Sports Day Meet-The Invincibles was graced with the presence of our dearest Chairperson of Presidium School, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. The event also witnessed the presence of Mahabali Satpal Singhji-a well known wrestling champion as the Guest of Honour. Sudha Ma’am extolled the winners with certificates and medals and encouraged them to participate more in physical activities for wellbeing. Followed by various dance performances performed by students.

ARDAS RENTS A RELIGIOUS FERVOR IN SCHOOL’S AIR ON GURUPURAB

Presidium celebrated Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary with utmost devotion and reverence. On this occasion, the students were dressed in colourful Punjabi attires which created vibrant aura. A warm welcome speech with a glimpse of the Sikh antiquity was delivered to enlighten the students about the historical background and teachings of Guru Ji. The students paid tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji by spreading his divine message of harmony, humility and equality through poems and devotional songs fostering sense of oneness i.e. God is one. Ardas rented a religious fervour in the air and the whole gathering. The function ended by the distribution of Kadah Parshad to one and all.

CANCER AWARENESS DAY: STUDENTS DRAW ATTENTION TO A HEALTHY LIVING

Presidium celebrated National Cancer Awareness Day to create awareness in Presidians. The students of grades 2 and 3 marched in the premises holding placards and banners on cancer awareness. A skit was also performed stressing the importance of consumption of protein-rich food and engagement in regular exercise to keep our body healthy. The initiative taken up by students was highly appreciated by school faculty.

DIWALI: A STEP TO BRING JOYS IN THE LIVES OF LESS FORTUNATES

This year’s celebrations aimed at developing our young Presidians’ conscience towards the social menace of pollution caused by the bursting of crackers which is engulfing this pious celebration. Students from grades nursery to 5 conveyed the message through speeches and slogans to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali. The celebration rose to crescendo when students captured everyone's attention with a moving Nukkad Natak, which highlighted the all-encompassing cons of bursting crackers, from pollution to child labour to health hazards. This Diwali, the students joined hands for spreading joy and light into the lives of less fortunate.
