The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiations from the sun are absorbed by the greenhouse gases and not reflected back into space. This insulates the surface of the Earth and prevents it from freezing. A greenhouse is a house made of glass that can be used to grow plants. Students of Grade 7 are learning about the greenhouse effect in the chapter- Nutrition in Plants. Young Presidians presented a detailed report wherein they explained that -what is the greenhouse effect, what are its causes and benefits? They also wrote about the role of greenhouse gases, due to which the temperature of the Earth has increased considerably. The purpose of the enrichment activity was to generate awareness about how greenhouses regulate the amount of light, water, and carbon dioxide to grow the plants.
