Students of Grade 6 of Presidium learned about maps under the Geography section. Taking it forward from their previous knowledge that a map is a representation or drawing of the Earth's surface or a part of it on a flat surface according to a scale, they further built the concept. They gained information about types of maps like political maps showing political boundaries, physical maps showing natural features, and thematic maps showing roads, rainfall, distribution of forest, etc. Students developed an understanding of conventional symbols of maps and presented assimilation of their learning through a class presentation on the topic. The concept
helped students understand how maps are a useful tool to study our large-sized Earth's complications in an easy way.
