To give a hand on experience related to the theme ‘Garden’, students  of Presidium Grade 3 were taken to a nearby garden. The objective of the activity was to reinforce the topic-‘Garden,’ to inculcate the love for the environment and to relish the beauty of nature. With gardening, children touched and felt the dirt, seeds and flowers; they saw the vibrant colours and varied sizes of the plants. Scooping up the dirt, placing the seeds in the pots and pouring the water developed important motor skills. Gardening made the students realize how important it is to take care of the Earth. They were curious to know about the surrounding and were excited to see the pots of varying shapes and sizes. This field trip sensitized the students towards caring for the environment and the importance of planting more trees.
